How to Find PC Game Deals and Free Game Giveaways

A practical way to compare listed PC game discounts, separate full-game giveaways from in-game rewards, and check the conditions that matter before you buy or claim an offer.

Finding a low price is only part of choosing a PC game deal. The offer also needs to match the platform you use, the region of your store account, the edition you actually want, and the conditions attached to the purchase. Free-game promotions need the same checks: a listing may be for a full game, downloadable content, an in-game item, or temporary beta access rather than a permanent copy of a game.

The K Tools HQ Gaming Deals & Freebies Finder puts two types of listings in one place. Its PC Game Deals tab uses deal data from CheapShark. Its Freebies & Giveaways tab uses giveaway listings from GamerPower. The providers remain responsible for their data and offers; K Tools HQ is a discovery interface, not a retailer or giveaway organizer.

Quick distinction: a discount is a paid offer at a reduced listed price; a giveaway is a promotion with its own eligibility and expiry conditions; and a free-to-play game is a game whose base access is free under the publisher's model. These are different categories. Do not assume that every giveaway is a full game or that every free-to-play title is listed as a giveaway.

1. Find a PC game discount

  1. Open the Gaming Deals & Freebies Finder and select PC Game Deals.
  2. Enter the game title in the search field. Use the clearest part of the title if the full edition name does not return the result you expect.
  3. Use the store filter to narrow the results to a supported retailer, or leave it on all stores to compare the available listings.
  4. Use the maximum-price filter when you have a budget. The filter and displayed CheapShark prices are in US dollars (USD), not Indian rupees.
  5. Choose a sorting option. The finder supports deal rating, biggest listed discount, lowest listed price, and recently changed listings.
  6. Open the deal link and confirm the offer on the retailer's page before purchasing.

Searching a game title is more useful than browsing a long list without a purchase in mind. It gives you a specific comparison to make: which supported store has a listing that suits your platform, region, budget, and preferred edition?

2. Understand the prices and deal rating

A deal card can show a sale price, a normal price, a percentage saving, the store name, and a CheapShark deal rating when that value is available. These fields help you compare listings, but they answer different questions.

Field What it tells you What it does not prove
Sale price The current price value returned for that store listing. It is not a guaranteed checkout total for every country.
Normal price The comparison price supplied with the deal data. It does not establish the lowest historical price.
Percent saving The listed reduction relative to the supplied normal price. It does not measure game quality or whether you should buy it.
Deal rating CheapShark's own deal-comparison score, shown on a 0–10 scale when returned. It is not a player review, critic score, or guarantee of the best offer in your region.
Store The retailer associated with that particular listing. It does not guarantee that the store supports your country or preferred activation method.

Work out what a discount means

For example, imagine a listing shows a normal price of $59.99 and a sale price of $14.99. The difference is $45.00. The percentage reduction is calculated against the normal price:

((Normal price − Sale price) ÷ Normal price) × 100

Using those illustrative values gives a discount of about 75%. This is an example to explain the calculation, not a claim about a current game offer.

A large percentage is not automatically a good purchase. Check whether the listing is for the standard game, a deluxe edition, a bundle, downloadable content, or a separate activation product. Compare the item you intend to buy, not just the largest discount number.

3. Check the region, platform, and edition before buying

CheapShark's API returns PC game deal information with prices in USD. A listed amount may not match the final amount shown to a visitor in India or another country. Store pages can apply regional pricing, currency conversion, local taxes, payment rules, and region-specific activation restrictions.

Before purchasing, open the retailer's offer and check:

Do not rely on the card alone. A deal result is a pointer to a retailer listing. The retailer's current checkout page is the place to verify the final price, product edition, region, activation method, and purchase conditions.

4. Find free-game giveaways by platform and type

Switch to Freebies & Giveaways in the finder. The GamerPower data source includes several types of promotions. Choose the platform you use, then select the offer type that matches what you want.

Giveaway type What it usually means What to verify
Full game A promotion for a game rather than only an in-game item. Whether the claim adds a lasting licence to the correct account and whether there are regional limits.
In-game loot / DLC An item, currency, cosmetic, expansion, or other add-on for a game. Whether you own the base game, use the correct platform, and meet any account or level requirements.
Beta / playtest Access to a test build or limited preview, not necessarily a full release. Registration requirements, access window, supported hardware, and whether progress will carry over.

The finder also lets you sort giveaway listings by newest, highest listed value, or popularity. Sorting changes how results are arranged; it does not certify that an offer is suitable, safe, or available to every visitor.

5. Read the giveaway conditions before claiming

Open the source offer and look for the exact claim steps. A promotion may require a store account, publisher account, email confirmation, platform connection, or other eligibility step. Some promotions are limited by country, platform, age, quantity, or time window.

  1. Confirm that the offer is still active on the source page.
  2. Check that the listed platform matches the account or device where you want to use it.
  3. Read any country, age, account, or subscription requirements.
  4. Check the expiry time and time zone if a deadline is shown.
  5. Follow the claim instructions on the official promotion or participating platform.
  6. After claiming, verify that the game or item appears in the correct account or library.

Do not treat a displayed estimated value as cash value, a guaranteed saving, or proof that the item can be sold. Giveaway data can also change after it is retrieved, so a result that appears in the finder may have expired or become unavailable by the time you open it.

6. How the K Tools HQ finder gets its information

The finder uses two separate public data sources. CheapShark provides PC game deal information and a store list. Its API documentation says the API is free to use without an API key, supports browser CORS requests, and asks sites that link to tracked deals to use CheapShark's deal redirect links. CheapShark also advises developers to make requests in response to user searches or browsing rather than building large automated catalogues, because excessive requests can be rate-limited.

GamerPower provides active giveaway data through a public JSON API. Its documentation says the API does not require an API key and permits commercial use with an active attribution hyperlink to GamerPower.com. It also states that the data cannot be claimed as your own or resold without permission.

In this tool, PC game title searches and selected deal filters are sent to CheapShark to retrieve matching results. For giveaways, platform, type, and sorting choices are sent to GamerPower; the title search is applied to the returned list in the browser. The finder does not ask you to upload a file. The providers still receive the requests and may process standard connection information, such as your IP address.

Data freshness and availability: CheapShark says pricing data is generally refreshed about once per hour, but timing can vary. Giveaway listings can end or change. The finder does not provide price alerts or guarantee that a displayed offer remains available. If a provider is unavailable, try again later or open the provider directly.

7. What the finder does not do

Use the finder to discover and compare listings, then use the linked source page to make the final decision. If an offer's terms are unclear, do not assume that it applies to your account or region.

Frequently asked questions

Are the PC game prices shown in Indian rupees?

No. CheapShark supplies deal prices in US dollars. Open the retailer page to see the price, currency, tax treatment, and availability that apply to your account and region.

Does a higher deal rating mean the game is better?

No. The CheapShark deal rating is a deal-comparison score, not a review score for the game's quality, story, performance, or player experience.

Are giveaways always permanent full-game copies?

No. A listing may be for a full game, in-game loot or DLC, or beta and playtest access. Read the offer type and claim terms on the source page.

Why did an offer disappear or stop working?

Promotions and store prices can change or expire after the finder retrieves the listing. Refresh the results and confirm the offer on the provider's page.

Does K Tools HQ require an account to use this finder?

No K Tools HQ account is required for the finder. A retailer or giveaway platform may still require its own account to purchase or claim an offer.

Does the finder upload my files?

No files are used by this tool. Search terms and selected filters are sent to the relevant data provider as described above. The providers may receive standard connection information.
